You look at your screen and what do you view? An article by Cam, staring back at you! Did he just rhyme? Believe it or not, this is not the first time. “Where are the others?” you ask. Well, they were really bad. Now onto the main topic: Nintendo. Ah Nintendo. Nintendo was once THE giant that people tried to compete with. Now, they are on the back burner. What happened? I have a theory.

Everyone has the fondest memories of the old Nintendo systems. The NES, the SNES, The N64, and the GameCube. Then the Wii happened. The Wii was one of a kind. It had motion controls, and a lot of really awesome motioned controlled games. There was one problem, however: It didn’t have enough “hardcore games” that gamers wanted to see. That is why the Nintendo Wii was seen as a toy, and not an actual game console.

Then: The Wii U. A game pad, HD, new games! Well…. Sorta. I feel like Nintendo has a theory of “build the machine first, come up with stuff to do with it later.” That is the unique approach that Nintendo brings to the table. Other systems, such as the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One, have games that they need a new system for, so they make a new system. Nintendo needs a new system, so they build a new system with no games.

The launch titles for the Wii U were games that no one cared about. ZombiU was fun, as a demo. The actual game… Not so much. Now that the Wii U has games such as Super Smash Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Mario Party 10 coming out, they have a much better chance to become an actual contender this year. What do you think? Can Nintendo make a comeback? Will they have a chance to be a big contender this year? Let me know in the comments below!
