I love multi-player games. However in playing them I never really feel like I get to relax. In playing multi-player games I usually feel stressed or feel like I need to pull my weight in the team and prove myself. In just thinking about single player games I feel so relaxed, they are by far the best type of game because they allow you to sort of zone out and play at your own pace.

Don’t get me wrong, there is no better feeling than being the most dominant player in a game and leading your team to victory with an iron fist. But that’s not always a guarantee, in a single player game environment you have full control. At the end of a long stressful day I don’t look forward to playing League of Legends or Counter Strike: Global Offensive, I turn to games like Ocarina of Time or Ori and the Blind Forest.

Another reason that I prefer single player games over multi-player is because of one simple concept that most multi-player games do not have. The pause button. That in itself is a relief because you have full control and will always have time for a single player game, given it’s 15 minutes to 2 hours you can step out of your life for a minute and enjoy yourself. Then when reality chimes back in you can do what you need to while putting your game on hold.

Who can forget about Easter eggs!? Those are arguable some of the BEST parts in all video games, seeing all the little secrets and and hidden goodies laced within the scenery that the developers have put in. Through those alone you can learn so much more of the story and even meet new characters you would’ve never known otherwise.

Which do you prefer? Single player or multi? What game is your go-to when you want to relax? Let me know in the comments below!
