We have known about the Legend of Zelda Wii U for a while and, based on what we know, the game seems to be very similar to one of the best games we have seen in a long time; Skyrim.

Previously I talked about 3 reasons that Legend of Zelda Wii U will be different from Skyrim and I am still convinced that Zelda Wii U will be different from Skyrim. Today I am going to explain 3 more reasons that Zelda Wii U will be it’s own unique game that additionally will stay true to the Zelda series.

The first reason that Zelda will be different is because it is Nintendo. It may seem obvious but Nintendo is known for fun characters that are not always fueled by a back story. This is very different from the intense character development that we see in all of the Bethesda games.

In the Legend of Zelda Wii U, we will probably see some more characters like Tingle, Navi or Biggoron. We don’t really know why they do things or where they originate. We know that Navi is a fairy and Biggoron is a leader in need of help, but you never learn what makes Biggoron a good leader or why Tingle is so annoying. The Legend of Zelda characters just show up and you live with it, you can’t just kill people you don’t like.

The next reason that Zelda will be different is that it will be more dungeon oriented, with puzzles to build up and a boss at the end. The Legend of Zelda games have a format of going dungeon to dungeon and getting to the boss fight, collecting a new weapon or tool along the way. There are boss fights in Zelda and they are the climax of a dungeon. In Skyrim there are bosses and chiefs but there isn’t really a designated fight towards that person or monster. You just end up killing them in the midst of a 1-on-10 fight. Its not as much as an accomplishment to kill the boss.

Bosses are a big deal in Zelda, you find the boss key and you find the boss door and you 1v1 a boss that appears to easily have the ability to destroy you. There is also a pattern in the fight style with the bosses; The bosses have a weak point and that is where you target; You have to follow a pattern much similar to an arcade fight. There are no patterns in a Skyrim fight, you just kill the bad guy.

My final reason, for now, that Legend of Zelda Wii U will be different from Skyrim is that Zelda follows a system of puzzles that are all unique and fun. It keeps your brain working and you have to think to excel in the many dungeons and interesting situations you find yourself in while playing a Zelda game.

Whether you are in a temple, out at sea or roaming the fields of Hyrule, you are quite likely to find yourself with a puzzle unique to the situation. Skyrim does have puzzles but it is always the same kind of puzzles. There are so many more things to think about in Zelda games and that is what makes these games so unique.

The Legend of Zelda Wii U will be like nothing we have ever seen before. It will have just as many things make it great as Skyrim did. I plan on there being some things that make this Zelda game different from any other Zelda game before, however I don’t expect the game to change to become the next Skyrim. I may be wrong and I would be okay with being wrong seeing as how amazing a Zelda-Skyrim would be, however I anticipate Zelda to stay Zelda.
